According to Bloomberg, Apple has released a software update that includes support for Starlink satellite internet for T-Mobile users.
As part of the testing, users received messages from the T-Mobile operator that they are in beta and can send text messages via satellite from almost anywhere in the world.
The new program assumes that when the iPhone is outside the range of cellular coverage, it will try to connect to SpaceX satellites. For now, only text messages can be sent via satellite; the service will not be available in places where there is a cellular network.
SpaceX and T-Mobile have announced plans to expand the program to include data and voice calls in the future.
