Iran lifts import ban on iPhones

Iranian citizens will soon be able to purchase iPhones 14, 15, and 16 as authorities lifted the ban on new American Apple smartphone models.

The ban on new iPhone models was in effect from 2023, but now the country's telecommunications minister has announced that authorities are allowing new models to be registered.

Minister Sattar Hashemi announced on Monday that the issue of registering new iPhone models in the Iranian market has been resolved, and Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has supported the cause.

Hashemi did not elaborate but said that import measures will be announced soon.

After the 2023 ban, the iPhone 13 and older versions will still be able to be imported amid solid demand for the product.
