According to the WABetaInfo periodical, spammers will be banned. The update is available in beta version 2.24.10.5 on Google Play. The update temporarily blocks users, depriving them of the opportunity to create new chats.
However, users with limited rights can still receive and reply to messages from existing chats and groups.
Because the messenger uses end-to-end encryption, the system cannot see the messages but can identify spam based on the user's behavior.
The account restriction feature is under development and will be available in a future app update.
