Kia has announced the debut of the Tasman model, the first pickup truck in the South Korean brand's history. The model's name refers to the Australian state of Tasmania and the Tasman Sea, indicating key markets for the model. The Kia pickup will be offered in Australia, South Korea, Africa, and the Middle East. Shipments to Europe and the US should be reported.
Tasman will be the second car after the Kia Mohave with a frame structure, which will distinguish the novelty from the 2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz, which has a supporting body. The main competitors for the new pickup will be the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok, and Toyota Hilux.
