South Korea manufactures surveillance drones

The National Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) reported that South Korea has begun production of medium-altitude reconnaissance drones designed to increase North Korea's surveillance capabilities. 

According to the Yonhap agency, in December, the agency signed a $353 million contract with Korean Air Corporation and defense companies LIG Nex1 and Hanwha Systems to produce drones until 2028. This project started in 2008, and the device was developed and completed in 2022.
