"DigiTech-2022" conference has started in Yerevan

Today, on March 10, the "DigiTech-2022" conference and the technology exhibition of the same name, considered the largest in the region, started in the Karen Demirchyan sports and concert complex.

Prime Minister, Chairman of the Union of Advanced Technologies Enterprises Alexander Yesayan, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Andrea Viktorin, Minister of BTA Robert Khachatryan, German Ambassador to Armenia Victor Richter, and others made opening remarks at the conference.

BTA Minister Robert Khachatryan, in his opening speech, specifically mentioned, "In the past years, we have had great growth in the IT sector; we hope to continue this growth in the future, for which our ministry is developing various programs. Unfortunately, I can't put the exact numbers right now on how much growth we've had, but it's been significant compared to previous years. I want productive discussions. This year, with the support of the Ministry, we tried to involve startup companies in the screenings, and we also invited startup companies from Georgia."

Andrea Victorin, the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, also gave an opening speech; they first welcomed the attendees, then noted that she was pleased to be present at such an event and to have had the opportunity to communicate with the excellent team of organizers. According to her, it is essential to understand how to make high technologies contribute to developing human rights and democratic values. She expressed hope that during the conference, they will have the opportunity to see innovative companies and their solutions, "We need to promote high technologies, and this conference is meant to contribute to that. Technology is meant to educate and develop society, not to control it. Technologies can help organize more transparent and free elections, ensure transparency in public spheres and government."

RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, US Ambassador to RA Kristina Kvien, European Union Ambassador to RA Andrea Victorin, Founder and Executive Director of Flagship Pioneering Company, Co-Founder and President of Moderna Company Nubar Afeyan, Co-Founder of Nine Blocks Capital Management Company are participating in the conference. And managing partner Henry Arslanyan, founder of Activeloop company Davit Buniatyan, co-founder and general partner of Acrobator Ventures company Joachim Laqueur and others. In total, around 30 speakers from 9 countries are participating.

More than 800 participants have registered for the conference; currently, a few places are left.

In addition to the main conference program, there are additional sessions for visitors with a Full Network Pass. DigiTech has announced the first round of DigiTech Venture Capital Quick Meetings, which will occur on the morning of March 11. Startup founders and CEOs with Full Network Pass tickets can register for 15-minute pitch sessions with one of the five venture capitalists participating in the event.

Then the "Impact Lean" investment forum of "Granatus Ventures" will take place within the framework of the "Digitech 2022" conference. It is a special meeting for startups, investors, and key players in the technology industry with high social, health, and environmental impact. The forum explores how technologies can solve the most complex problems of sustainable development globally. The meeting will take place on March 11 at 14:30 at the sports concert complex named after Karen Demirchyan.

The annual technology exhibition will be open to visitors until 12:00-16:00, K. in the sports concert complex named after Demirchyan. More than 120 local and international companies participate in the year's exhibition. The entrance is free.
