New iPhones, iPads, and Macbooks will get USB-C charging slots

Apple must comply with EU law that requires electronic devices to share a common charging standard known as USB-C. The news was confirmed by the head of marketing of the "Apple" company.

"We have to comply with the law," Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of global marketing, said Tuesday at the Wall Street Journal Tech Live conference.

On Monday, ministers from EU member states gave final approval to a common charger law, which means that by 2024 electronic devices, including mobile phones and tablets, will have to support the USB-C charging standard.
