I thank the club, the players, and especially the fans for their trust and support. I leave with respect, gratitude, and pride for having done everything I could," Alonso wrote on his Instagram page.
It should be noted that the Spaniard was fired from Barcelona a day after the 3-2 defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final.
