Ruben Amorim has left Manchester United. The English club has announced the departure of the Portuguese manager.
The Portuguese is leaving after a disagreement over transfer policy.
Amorim had demanded that his colleagues in the recruitment department “do their job” after Sunday’s draw with Leeds.
Amorim had expected United to be ready to support him in making major signings in the January transfer window, but it has become clear that nothing will change.
His relationship with the director of football, Jason Wilcox, has been strained, and Amorim made his frustrations clear after the game against Leeds.
The 40-year-old Portuguese will take charge of Manchester United until the autumn of 2024. Under his leadership, the team reached the 2024/25 Europa League final, where they lost 1-0 to Tottenham. He has coached the team in 63 games, winning 25, drawing 15, and losing 23.
Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League with 31 points after 20 matches.
