Barcelona president Joan Laporta has announced that he will not run for a third consecutive term. He recalled that the club's statutes allow him to serve no more than two terms and stressed that he intends to adhere to this principle strictly.
According to Laporta, the exact date of the 2026 elections will be determined between March 15 and June 15, and the leadership is now focused on the team's work and results to avoid additional pressure on the electoral process.
Two terms are the maximum. I will not be like Putin or Maduro. I could go again, but that would be a mistake," he said.
