Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be his last. The Portuguese first participated in a major football tournament in 2006.
“The next World Cup will be my last. Of course, that’s true, because I’ll be 41 years old. As I said, I’m enjoying this moment,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing for Portugal since August 2003. In total, he has played 225 matches for the national team, scoring 143 goals and providing 46 assists. In 2016, Ronaldo became the European champion with Portugal, and in 2015 and 2019, he won the UEFA Nations League.
