The head coach of the Armenian national football team, Yeghishe Melikyan, has announced who will be the team’s new captain.
“From now on, the captain of the Armenian national team will be Eduard Spertsyan,” said the 46-year-old specialist.
After Melikyan’s appointment, Tigran Barseghyan was appointed captain of the Armenian team. The 32-year-old midfielder, however, was sent off the field with a straight red card for his behavior in an away match against Krlandia.
This incident received a great response to public discussion, and, most likely, the decision was also influenced by this episode.
