In the first game of the second round of the 2025 FIDE Chess World Cup, all the grandmasters representing Armenia ended their matches in a draw, according to a report from the Chess Federation of Armenia.
Gabriel Sargsyan played a draw with the black pieces against Grandmaster Maxim Rodstein, representing Israel. Shant Sargsyan played a draw with the white pieces against the grandmaster George Cori, representing Peru. Robert Hovhannisyan played a draw with the white pieces against the grandmaster Raunak Sadhvani, representing India. Hayk Martirosyan played a draw with the white pieces against Grandmaster Vladislav Artemyev, representing FIDE.
It should be noted that the Armenian chess players also participating in the tournament are the grandmasters Levon Aronian and Samuel Sevian. Aronian won today with white pieces against International Master Aroniak Gosh from India, while Sevian drew with Grandmaster Tin Jinyao from Singapore.
The second game of the second round will start on November 5 at 1:30 p.m.
