The European Youth and U23 Championships are underway in Durres, Albania. Armenian national team member Garnik Cholakyan (60 kg) lifted 115 kg and 120 kg in the snatch. He became the gold medalist in this exercise.
Cholakyan was the first in the clean and jerk again. He lifted 140 kg, 145 kg, and 147 kg in succession. With a combined result of 267 kilograms, Garnik Cholakyan is the European U23 champion.
Armenian national team member Seyran Khudanyan (60 kg) lifted 110 kg and 115 kg in the snatch. Khudanyan took second place in this exercise. Khudanyan lifted only 135 kilograms in the clean and jerk. With a combined result of 250 kg, he is 5th in the European U23 Championship
