Seven countries voted in favor of Russia's return to UEFA competitions

On September 11, the UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Tirana again discussed the issue of the return of Russian football, but the decision was postponed to February 12, 2026.

Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan voted in favor of Russia's return. Sweden, Finland, and Norway expressed a more moderate position, which did not rule out the return of women's and youth teams by the end of the year.

Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic are ready to discuss options if UEFA confirms the decision.

Poland, the Baltic states, Ukraine, as well as France, Germany, England, and several other countries strongly opposed it. Final decisions are expected in Brussels, and the national team issue could be discussed at the FIFA Congress.
