Yeghishe Melikyan, head coach of the Armenian national team

Yeghishe Melikyan will head the Armenian national team.

The candidacy of the 46-year-old specialist was approved by the members of the FFA Executive Committee today.

The contract with Yeghishe Melikyan will be valid until November 2026.

Speaking about his appointment, Yeghishe Melikyan said:

"I am proud to assume the position of head coach of the Armenian national team. I am aware of the complexity of the moment and the full responsibility, but I am ready to walk this path with honor. I will make all my decisions for the benefit of the national team and Armenian football. At this moment, it is time to join forces. I call on the entire football community to unite around the national team."

FFA President Armen Melikbekyan, referring to Yeghishe Melikyan's appointment, noted:

"The Football Federation of Armenia has decided to change the direction of development of the Armenian national team. We are grateful to John Van't Skhip for his work. We now entrust the team's leadership to an Armenian specialist who has a deep understanding of Armenian football, having transitioned from a player on the Armenian national team to a coach who has won two championships in Armenian club football in recent years.

We are confident that thanks to the cooperation and daily hard work of the FFA staff and Yeghishe Melikyan, the Armenian national team will be able to achieve good results. I believe that thanks to consolidation and unity, we will be able to take a step forward."
