Harutyun Hovhannisyan, Vice Champion of the World Junior Weightlifting Championships

The Junior and Youth Weightlifting World Championships are ending in Peru. Armenian team member Harutyun Hovhannisyan won a gold medal in the junior heavyweight weightlifting competition snatch event.

In three successful approaches, she lifted 140 kg, 145 kg, and 150 kg. In the clean and jerk, Hovhannisyan lifted 173 kg. With 323 kilograms, she became the vice-champion of the Junior World Championships.

Emma Poghosyan competed in the women's 81 kg class at the Junior World Championships. She made one approach in the snatch, lifting 95 kg. The athlete refused the following two approaches due to severe knee pain. In the clean and jerk, Emma lifted 120 kilograms and again did not perform the remaining approaches due to injury. With 215 kg, Emma Poghosyan took 4th place in the Junior World Championships.
