Didier Deschamps announced his retirement from coaching the French national team after the 2026 World Cup.
"I have been working with the team since 2012. The contract is scheduled for 2026 until the next world championship. And then, that's it, at some point, you have to finish. A clear decision has matured in my head.
I do my job with unchanging desire and passion so the French national team maintains the highest level. But 2026 is a perfect time to break up," said Deschamps.
Under his leadership, the "tricolors" won the National Championship 2018 and the League of Nations in 2021/22 and also became the silver medalists of Euro-2016 and National Championship 2022.
