The new world chess champion, Gukesh Dommaraju, stated that the match with former champion Magnus Carlsen would be the most difficult test in chess.
"Of course, playing against Magnus in the World Championship would be amazing; it would be the most difficult test of chess. It is Magnus who decides, but I would like to challenge myself in a duel with the best player in the world," said Gukesh Dommaraju.
Reflecting on his match against Dean Leeren, whom he defeated to become the champion, Dommaraju noted: "Liren is a real source of inspiration for me. I learned from Ding that he is an incredible fighter; true champions fight to the end."
