Narek Mkrtchyan, an 81-kg member of Armenia's youth weightlifting team, won a gold medal in the U20 European Championship in Poland with a result of 341 kg in the double event (150+191 kilograms).
Mkrtchyan achieved a result of 150 kg with three successful approaches in the snatch exercise and won a small bronze medal. In the push exercise, the Armenian weightlifter again successfully performed all approaches and won a small gold medal with a result of 191 kg.
