Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan wrote on his social network pages:
"It was a great honor for me to receive an award from the Armenian medal winners of the Paris Summer Olympics, Artur Aleksanyan, Artur Davtyan, Malkhas Amoyan, and Varazdat Lalayan, because their victories and recorded successes not only make us all proud but also motivate the young people who are taking their first steps in big sports.
Yerevan Municipality attaches great importance to sports and a healthy lifestyle. This is due not only to the reconstruction and major repairs of sports schools, the creation of comfortable conditions for playing sports in the courtyards, and the holding of various sports events, in which many athletes from Armenia and abroad participate," the mayor wrote.
