In one of the hotels in Stockholm where Kylian Mbappe lived, a rape investigation has been started.

Earlier, it was announced that a police investigation had been launched into a rape complaint at a hotel in the center of Stockholm where the Real Madrid forward and his friends stayed overnight during a trip to Sweden.

On October 10, the day of the France-Israel match in the League of Nations, the friends visited a restaurant and a nightclub. According to the victim's statement, the incident occurred at the hotel on the same day.

Mbappe dismissed the report as false, noting that the news came a day before PSG's appeal hearing to pay him €55 million in salary arrears. In the Paris club, Mbappe's remarks were called "disgraceful".

Today, the Swedish Prosecutor's Office issued a press release announcing the opening of an investigation following a rape complaint.

"Following media reports of alleged rape in Stockholm, the Prosecutor's Office can confirm that a complaint of rape has been made to the police. According to the report, the incident occurred on October 10, 2024, in a hotel in Stockholm.

Senior prosecutor Marina Chirakova conducts the preliminary investigation. The prosecutor is unavailable to the media and cannot provide additional information. When additional information appears, a new press release will be published," said the Swedish Prosecutor's Office statement.

The press release did not mention Mbappe by name. Two Swedish newspapers, Expressen and Aftonbladet, reported that the investigation involved Kilian.
