The men's and women's teams started the Chess Olympiad with victory

The men's and women's chess teams of Armenia are participating in the 45th World Olympiad in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. In the opening round, the Armenian national teams won confidently.

The men's team competed against the Maltese team in the first round and won 4:0. Hayk M. won from the Armenian team. Martirosyan (2667), Shant Sargsyan (2649), Robert Hovhannisyan (2619) and Karen H. Grigoryan (2569).

The women's team won 4-0 against the team of Trinidad and Tobago. Lilit Mkrtchyan, Mariam Mkrtchyan, Anna Sargsyan and Susanna Gaboyan won.

Gabriel Sargsyan is also on the Armenian men's team, which Arman Pashikyan coaches.

Elina Danielyan is also on the women's team. The coach of the team is Zaven Andriasyan.

The Armenian men's team ranks 17th among 197 countries in the starting table, and the women's team ranks 11th among 184 countries.

The World Chess Olympiad will be held until September 23. In total, 11 rounds will be held.
