Karen Giloyan, the deputy minister of MESCS, also referred to the appeal process of Greco-Roman style wrestler Artur Aleksanyan's final wrestling match with an Iranian wrestler.
"The International Wrestling Federation responded in writing, stating that the referees judged correctly.
The National Olympic Committee of Armenia, attaching the federation's appeal and the International Wrestling Federation's response, appealed to the International Olympic Committee's appeal commission. The first response was, "In addition, send what exactly is being complained about in which episode." Additional facts will be sent to the appeals committee in the next day or two. We have video footage of the same episode in another bout where the bouncer was cautioned, and the opponent was awarded a point. In other words, we have the fact that in the case of Artur Aleksanyan, there was precisely the opposite attitude. We are more than sure that Artur Aleksanyan would not have lost in that wrestling match, especially since after that there was no point, no action. We will fight until the end; I hope they will be found honest and justice restored," said Karen Giloyan.
The Armenian Olympic team is 66th among the 91 medal-winning teams, with 3 silver and 1 bronze medal. Among the representatives of Armenia, Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan, gymnast Vahagn Davtyan, and weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan were awarded the title of OG vice-champion. In contrast, Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan stood on the third step of the podium.
