Former Real Madrid defender and Portuguese footballer Pepe announced his retirement from sports at 41.
The Portuguese defender has played for Maritima, Porto, Real Madrid, and Besiktas and has won 28 club-level trophies, including three Champions League triumphs with Real Madrid.
Pepe played 141 matches for the Portuguese national team, scoring eight goals. He won the 2016 European Championship and the 2018/19 Nations League with the national team.
