In the semi-finals of the 97 kg weight category, Aleksanyan defeated Cuban representative Gabriel Rosillo with a score of 5:3 and will fight for the Olympic gold medal.
On August 7, Aleksanyan's opponent will be Iran's representative Mohammadhadi Saravi.
