Armenia will have 2 finalists in the European Boxing Championship

Two representatives of Armenia, Baregham Harutyunyan and Narek Manasyan, have reached the finals of the European Boxing Championship, which is about to end in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and will fight for the championship title.

In the semi-finals of the 48 kg weight category, Baregham Harutyunyan faced off with Serbian Rade Joksimovic and won 4:1 over his opponent. The Armenian boxer started the fight in the EA from the quarter-finals, where he defeated Georgia's representative Sakhil Alakhverdov with a score of 5:0.

Narek Manasyan, bronze medalist of the World and European championships, weight 92 kg, won an impressive victory over the Cuban Alfonso Loren Berto representing Azerbaijan in the semi-finals and reached the final. Manasyan had a 4:0 advantage over Slovakian representative David Michalek at the start, and in the quarterfinals he defeated Moldavian Andrey Zaplitny.

5 more representatives of Armenia, Ani Hovsepyan, Anush Grigoryan, Artur Bazeyan, Artur Sahakyan and Ararat Harutyunyan, became bronze medalists of the European Championship.

World and European youth champion Anush Grigoryan fought for a ticket to the finals of the 50 kg weight class with Irishman Sweeney Shano, losing to his rival. In the quarter-finals, Anoush fought with the representative of Romania, Mihaila Badescu, and won 5:2.

Member of the women's team, European champion Ani Hovsepyan fought with Russian Darima Sandakova in the semi-finals of the 70 kg category and lost to her opponent.

European vice-champion, 57 kg weight class Artur Bazeyan fought with Russian representative Eduard Savin in the semi-finals and lost to his rival, settling for a bronze medal. The Armenian boxer started the fight from the 1/8 finals, where he had a 5:0 advantage over the Polish Jakub Krzypied, and in the second fight he defeated the representative of Italy, Canonico Zuzepeheti.

60 kg Artur Sahakyan fought for a ticket to the finals with Bulgarian representative Radoslav Rosenov, but lost to his opponent. Sahakyan fought with Artyush Gomtsyan representing Georgia in the 1/8 finals and won 4:1, and in the quarterfinals he won 5:0 over Kernoga Tade representing Slovenia.

Ararat Harutyunyan also won a bronze medal in the 67 kg category, losing to Tarkhan Idigov representing Russia in the semi-finals. In the qualifying round, Harutyunyan defeated Poland's Mateus Grezhber with a score of 5:0, and in the quarterfinals, he won by the same score over Patrik Neich representing Slovenia.

It should be noted that the fights of the European Championship in Serbia are also served by the representative of Armenia, international referee Bagrat Avoyan.
