Elmira Karapetyan, a member of the Armenian shooting team, won the international tournament in Rio de Janeiro, which is ranked for the Paris Olympic Games.
Karapetyan scored 240.7 points in the final of the 10-meter air pistol competition and took first place. The Armenian athlete reached the finals in third place with 581 points. Elmira Karapetyan had already secured a ticket to the Paris Olympic Games.
Benik Khlghatyan took the 15th position in the identical boys' competition.
Three athletes—Elmira Karapetyan, Benik Khlghatyan, and Hrach Babayan—represent Armenia in the Rio de Janeiro ranking tournament.
Elmira Karapetyan and Benik Khlghatyan also competed in the 10-meter air pistol pair competition, taking 5th place. The couples who placed in the top four won Paris-2024 tickets.
Today, Karapetyan will also compete in the 25-meter pistol competition for a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The ranking tournament will be the last chance to get tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the 10-meter event. Tickets will still be drawn during the European Championships of these forms for the 25-meter and 50-meter races.
2 Olympic tickets will be played in each competition of the ranking tournament.
The ranking tournament in Rio de Janeiro will end on April 20.
