Former French football player Nicolas Anelka, who is in Armenia, and Armen Melikbekyan, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia, discussed the prospects of establishing a football academy in Armenia, reports FFA.
On January 18, Nikolas Anelka visited the FFA Technical Center/Football Academy and familiarized himself with the infrastructure. The French football player noted that the main secret to success is patience.
"As far as I have managed to see the existing football infrastructure in Yerevan, I can say that you have all the conditions. The academy's territory is huge; world-class stars can emerge from here, and everything corresponds to European standards," said Anelka.
According to the player, more children should be involved. He noted that Armenia is a small country, but that is not a problem. Anelka added that football loves time and hard work.
"Anelka can give you a lot; you just need to understand where there is a positive need. Coming to Armenia is not only for you but also for me to understand how football is developing globally. We will get something that will benefit everyone, including Armenia," said Anelka.
