Casemiro will be Brazil's permanent captain under Fernando Diniz. It is reported that the 31-year-old midfielder of "Manchester United" learned about this only before the match with Bolivia (5:1) of the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
According to UOL, Casemiro will remain the captain of the national team, at least until the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti, but he has yet to learn that.
The midfielder is one of the most experienced players of the Seleção.
Among the footballers of the current team, Casemiro has the third most appearances for Brazil (92). The leader is Neymar, with 134 games, and Marquinhos has 106 matches.
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti will lead the Brazilian national team after the 2024 Copa America. Casemiro knows him well due to the joint work in the Madrid club.
