Runner Yervand Mkrtchyan set a new RA record at the World Championship

Yervand Mkrtchyan, a member of the Armenian athletics team, set a new RA record at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, overcoming the 1,500-meter distance in 3:39.35 minutes.

According to the results of the World Championship, Mkrtchyan took the 11th position and could not overcome the barrier of the qualifying round. The previous record was also set by Yervand Mkrtchyan, who showed a result of 3:40.68 in the 1,500-meter race at the World Student Games held in China in July.

It should be noted that Mkrtchyan took third place and won a bronze medal at the World Student Games. Thus, Mkrtchyan won the first medal in athletics for independent Armenia in the running competitions of the World Student Games.
