Armenian weightlifters won 5 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals at the European U20 and U23 Championships

Armenia's youth weightlifting teams finished their performances at the European Weightlifting Championship for U20 and U23 held in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, winning 5 gold, 6 silver, and bronze medals.

The last medal of the Armenian team was won by Mary Tumasyan (+87 kg), becoming the vice-champion of the European U23 Championship.

The Armenian sportswoman registered a result of 208 kg (93+115) in the doubles and stood on the second step of the honor platform. Tumasyan also won miniature silver medals in snatch and push exercises.

It should also be noted that the U20 team took first place in the European Championship team calculation, and Garik Karapetyan, a 102 kg weightlifter, was recognized as the best athlete of the championship.

Rafik Harutyunyan (81 kg), Garnik Cholakyan (61 kg), and Liana Gyurjian (87 kg) won the gold medals in the U23 competition, while Karen Margaryan (81 kg) and Petros Petrosyan (109 kg) won silver medals.

Suren Grigoryan (89 kg) and Garik Karapetyan (102 kg) won the championship in the under-20 competition. Tigran Karapetyan (67 kg), Gor Sahakyan (73 kg), and Emma Poghosyan (81 kg) won silver medals. In comparison, Alexandra Grigoryan (58 kilograms), Julieta Avanesyan (+87), Seyran Khudanyan (55 kg), Meruzhan Yeghoyan (61 kg) ), Martin Poghosyan (73 kg) and Mnatsakan Abrahamyan (81 kg) became bronze medal winners.
