Hovhannisyan and Poghosyan defeated Azerbaijani and Turkish athletes in the final
The Armenian youth boxing team led by Vazgen Badalyan had successful competitions in the international tournament named after the world and European champion George Kandelaki held in Gori, Georgia, in which boxers from Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Israel, Turkey, and Azerbaijan participated.
Among Armenian boxers, 48 kg Hovhannes Harutyunyan, 75 kg Armen Poghosyan and 86 kg Davit Simonyan became the tournament winners. Moreover, Hovhannisyan and Poghosyan defeated Azerbaijani and Turkish athletes in the finals.
Arman Arzumanyan (54 kg), Harutyun Khachatryan (63.5 kg), and Misak Tepanyan (super heavyweight) became silver medalists. Three more boxers - Levon Vardumyan, Artur Avetikyan, and Artur Khachatryan - won a bronze medal. In the next few days, our youth team will hold a training camp in Olympavan and participate in the Minsk CIS championship.
