Armenian representatives won the first medals at the European Youth Championship of Greco-Roman style wrestling in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
Yurik Hoveyan won the gold medal in the final of the 63 kg category, beating the representative of Moldova, Vitali Yeromienko.
Vigen Nazaryan wrestled with Georgian representative Achiko Bolkvadze in the fight for the gold medal in the 87 kg category and suffered a painful defeat with a score of 4-5, winning the silver medal.
The other representative of Armenia, Homeros Arakelyan, in the 55 kg category, won the bronze medal of the Youth European Championship, winning a brilliant 11-6 victory over the representative of Turkey, Muhammed Chakir, in the decisive wrestling match.
Among the representatives of Armenia, Suren Aghajanyan (60 kg) will fight for the title of winner of the European Youth Championship, and Gaspar Terteryan (67 kg) will fight for the bronze medal tomorrow.
