Heavyweight Andranik Karapetyan, vice-champion of Europe

Andranik Karapetyan, the bronze medalist of the World Weightlifting Championship, was declared the European vice-champion, becoming the silver medalist with the result of 374 kg in the two-fight event in Yerevan.

In the snatch exercise, the Armenian weightlifter set a European record and won a small gold medal with a result of 178 kg. He completed all approaches. Karapetyan successfully performed the first two approaches in the push-up exercise and, holding the barbell weighing 196 kg above his head, took 5th place.

The 18-year-old representative of Bulgaria, Carlos Nazar, won the doubles gold medal in this weight class, setting a world and European record with 395 kg. Nazar also became a record holder in the push-up exercise with a result of 221 kg. The bronze medal was won by the representative of Moldova, Marin Robu, with a mark of 364 kg.
