76 kg women and 89 kg men will compete for medals in the European Weightlifting Championship today. Armenia has three representatives in these weight categories: Andranik Karapetyan will compete in the men's 89 kg category, and Tatev Hakobyan and Emma Poghosyan will compete in the women's competition in the 76 kg category.
It should be noted that the competitions of Andranik Karapetyan will start at 17:30 and the women's pikes at 20:00.
Let's remember that one of Armenia's representatives, Isabella Yailyan, won the bronze medal with a result of 196 kg (87+109) in the 55 kg weight category of women's sub-group A. He won miniature bronze medals in push and pull.
In the 67 kg weight category, Gor Sahakyan won a gold medal in the European Championship with a result of 320 kg in the double event (145+175 kilograms). Gor also won miniature gold medals in the snatch and push exercises.
In the 81 kg weight competition, Rafael Harutyunyan took third place in the European Championship in Yerevan with a result of 337 kg (150+187 kg) and became a bronze medalist. In the push exercise, the Armenian weightlifter also won a small silver medal, lifting a barbell weighing 187 kg.
