On the opening day of the European Sambo Championship in Haifa, Israel, Armenian Sambo players successfully started the competition and won the first medals, reports the Armenian Sambo Federation.
Narek Dallakyan and Boris Shatveryan won bronze medals in the 64 kg and 79 kg weight categories of sports sambo, respectively, Mkhitar Mkhitaryan in the 58 kg category of combat sambo, and Arsen Khanjyan, who plays in the 98 kg weight category of sports sambo, had simply excellent performances.
Arsen Khanjyan first defeated Russian representative Chernoskulov, then Azerbaijani Javadzadeh, and in the final, Georgian representative Davidi Loriashvili was declared European champion.
It should be noted that the European Championship will last until April 23.
