Vazgen Tevanyan, 65 kg weight class, was declared the European champion at the European freestyle wrestling championship in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
Tevanyan defeated Bulgarian representative Mikyai Salim Naim 10-1 in the decisive match.
It should be noted that the Armenian wrestler started the fight from the 1/8 finals, defeating Joshua Stewart, representing Israel, scoring 10-0. In the quarter-finals, he defeated Azerbaijan's Ali Rahimeada with a score of 4-1. In the semi-finals, he defeated the Armenian wrestler representing Ukraine, Erik Arushanyan, with a score of 12-4.
