Serbian Novak Djokovic overtook Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and topped the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) ranking, the updated version of which was published on Monday on the organization's official website.
Last week, Alcaraz lost to Italy's Jannick Sinner in the semifinals of the Master's tournament in Miami, Florida, and failed to defend last year's points. Djokovic did not participate in the game due to the refusal of a special permit by the US government to enter the country without vaccination.
