Armenian weightlifters won medals at the World Youth Championship

The representatives of Armenia continue their successful performances in the youth weightlifting championship that is coming to an end in the city of Durres, Albania. In the men's competition, representatives of Armenia, 89 kg Valerik Movsisyan and 96 kg Ashot Margaryan, won bronze medals.

Movsisyan took third place with 306 kg (140+166) result in the two-fight event. Movsisyan won a small bronze medal in the snatch exercise and took fourth place in the push-up practice. Margaryan won the bronze medal with the result of 300 kg (137+163). Margaryan also won miniature bronze medals in snatch and push exercises.

Anna Amroyan, a member of the women's team, weight 76 kg, also became the bronze medalist in the two-fight event. The representative of Armenia took third place and won a bronze medal with the result of 204 kg (88+116) in the two-fight event. Amroyan took 5th place in the snatch exercise and finished the push exercise in the fourth position.

Among the representatives of Armenia, the 67 kg weightlifter Seryozha Barseghyan (67 kg) was declared the winner of the world youth championship earlier, taking first place with the result of 275 kg (128+147) in the double event, and Narek Mkrtchyan (73 kg) won a small bronze medal.

Zhora Grigoryan (61 kg), Hovhannes Ghahramanyan (81 kilograms), Rustam Sahradian (102 kg), and Gagik Mkrtchyan (+102 kg) also went to the competition as part of the Armenian men's team. Among the representatives of Armenia, Zhora Grigoryan was the first to enter the fight and took the 7th position with the result of 237 kg (105+132) in the two-fight event.

Alina Sukiasyan (71 kg) and Emma Poghosyan (81 kg) will also participate in the World Championship in Albania as part of the women's team. The World Junior Championship will end on April 1.
