Roberto Martinez was appointed the new coach of the Portuguese national team. The 49-year-old Spaniard replaced Fernando Santos in that position.
Martinez left the Belgian national team in the group stage after being excluded from the 2022 World Cup. He has been working with Belgium since August 2016. Before that, the Spaniard led "Sawnes," "Wigan," and "Everton."
Santos left the Portugal national team after the 2022 World Cup. With him, the team reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.
