"The blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh can lead to the slow death of people," Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the midfielder of "Inter Milan," and the former captain of the Armenian national team, made a post on his social media pages referring to the closing of the corridor of Lachin.

"On Monday, Azerbaijan closed the only road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia and the outside world. This is a way of life for the people of Artsakh because all the goods, from food to medicine, are transported along this road.

One hundred twenty thousand republic residents, including 30,000 children, were under siege. Azerbaijan also cut off the gas supply to Nagorno Karabakh. In winter, at night, the air temperature drops below 0, and people can die of frostbite. This is turning into an absolute humanitarian disaster.

The blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh can turn into a slow death sentence," wrote Mkhitaryan.
