Armenia has won the first medal in the ongoing World Weightlifting Championship in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. Samvel Gasparyan won the bronze medal in the weight category of 102 kg. The result of the Armenian weightlifter's duel is 389 kg: he snatched 175 kg and pushed 214 kilograms. The winner's title was won by Ibrahim Elbachi, representing Qatar with 391 kg.
On December 15, Liana Gyurjian (81 kg), who will perform in group B, and Hripsime Khurshudyan, who will fight for medals in group A (87 kg), will take the stage.
