The regular men's and women's weightlifting world championships are starting today in Bogota, the capital of Colombia.
The first among the representatives of Armenia will be 59 kg Isabella Yailian (1:30 EJ). She will start fighting in the National League on December 9.
On December 12, Andranik Karapetyan (4:00 PM) and Vardan Manukyan (11:00 PM) will compete for medals in the 89 kg weight category.
On December 13, the platform will be given to 96 kg weightlifters. The sports honor of Armenia will be defended by Hakob Mkrtchyan (1:30 YZ) and Davit Hovhannisyan (1:30 YZ).
Tatev Hakobyan (1:30 PM) and Milena Khachatryan (1:30 PM) will compete in the girls' competition on December 14, while Samvel Gasparyan (102 kg) (4:00 PM) will compete in the men's competition.
Liana Gyurjian (81 kg) (11:00 EST) and Hripsime Khurshudyan (87 kg) (4:00 EST) will compete on December 15.
The platform will be given to the super heavyweights on the last day of the competition. Varazdat Lalayan (1:30 EH) and Simon Martirosyan (+109 kg) (1:30 EH) will compete for medals in the Armenian national team.
Olympic vice-champion, world and European vice-champion, and former member of the Armenian national team Gor Minasyan (1:30 EJ) will also participate in the +109 kg weight category of the World Championship.
It is worth noting that the upcoming World Championship is a ranking for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Each country can enter only two participants in each weight class at the World Championships.
