The World Sambo Championship started in Bishkek. On the first day of the competition, 4 Armenian athletes began the fight. Unfortunately, we lost the first matches, and the hope of winning a medal rested on the consolation matches.
Turkmen Muhamet Kossekov, who defeated Maxim Manukyan in the 64 kg weight category of sports sambo, reached the final, and our athlete got the opportunity to continue the competition. Maxim first defeated the Bulgarian Stoyanov, then the Kazakh Imakhanov, and won the bronze medal.
Maxim also won a medal for the same brilliance in the European Championship this year. Mahinyan Karlen (71 kg) and Grigoryan Davit (88 kg) will compete tomorrow.
