Official. Pique announced his retirement (VIDEO)

"Barcelona" defender Gerard Pique has announced that he is leaving the club and ending his football career. The football player published a video on his Twitter microblog, where he describes in detail his path and his reasons for leaving football.

“A lot of people have been talking about me over the past weeks and months. Until now I have been silent, but now the moment has come to speak.

Like many of you, I have always been a Barca fan. I was born in a family of football fans and "Barcelona" fans. When I was little, I wanted to become a Barça player, not a football player.

I've been thinking about that guy a lot lately. I don't know what would have happened if they had told him then that all his dreams would come true, that he would appear in the first team of "Barça", win all possible trophies, become European and world champions, play with the best footballers in the world and become is one of the captains of the team and will find friends for life.

It's been 25 years since I joined Barcelona. I left, but I came back. Football, "Barcelona" and Kules gave me everything.

And now that all of this boy's dreams have come true, I want to inform you of my decision that it's time to end this journey. I have always said that, except for "Barça", I will not play for any other team. And so it will be.

Saturday's match will be my last match at Camp Nou. I will always be a fan of the club, I will support the team. I will pass on my love for Barça to my children, just like my parents did. You know me well. I will return sooner or later," said Pique.

It should be noted that Pique is a student of Barcelona. In 2004, he left the club's academy and moved to Manchester United, where he played until 2008 (except for the 2006/07 season, when he played on loan at Zaragoza). With Manchester United, Pique won the English Premier League, the country The Super Cup and the English League Cup, and also became the winner of the Champions League.

In 2008, Pique returned to "Barcelona". He spent 14 years in the Catalan club. He won the Spanish Championship 8 times, the Spanish Cup 7 times, the Super Cup of the country 6 times, the Champions League 3 times, the UEFA Super Cup and the World Club Championship.

As part of the Spanish national team, Pique became the world and European champion.

Pique will play the last match of his career as a member of "Barcelona" against "Almeria" on November 5.
