The Boxing Federation of Armenia informs that Armenian boxers won two gold medals at the European Junior Boxing Championship, which is about to end in Italy. Vagharshak Keyan, weighing 46 kg, was the first among the Armenian athletes to stand on the first step of the honor platform.
The Armenian athlete performed very confidently during the tournament and competed with John Thomas, representing England in the final. Although the experts considered the competitor the favorite, the Armenian athlete entered the ring with a great desire to win. He showed that the gold medal belonged to Armenia in the first round.
Thanks to confident actions and more shots, our athlete won the first round with a score of 5:0. in the 2nd round, Keyan developed the success and again 5:0. In the 3rd round, our athlete acted as a winner and brought the fight to a victorious end with brilliant tactics.
Eric Arstamyan won Armenia's second gold medal, celebrating a glorious victory over Englishman Stephen Lington, who entered the ring as a favorite. In the first round, the Englishman acted technically more competently and won round 4:1 with ingenious actions, but Eric was not depressed. Our athlete attacked in the 2nd round and did not give his opponent a chance to breathe. He recorded 3:2.
Sensing his opponent's weaknesses, the athlete from Artsakh increased the pace in the 3rd crucial round and won the 2nd gold medal for Armenia by defeating the Englishman. Armenia is also close to being the first in the team calculation.
