The "Sambo Founders' Cup" international tournament was held in Moscow, where Armenian sambo players participated.
Since 1980, this prestigious tournament has been called the "Kharlampiev Cup." Still, this year, the World Sambo Federation decided to "restore justice" and called it the "Sambo Founders Cup" because, in addition to Anatoly Kharlampiev, the sport's founders are also Vasiliy Oshchepkov and Victor Spiridonov. :
This time, 250 athletes from 13 countries participated in the tournament. Among the representatives of Armenia, Narek Dallakyan in the 64 kg category and Vahagn Chalyan in the 88 kg category won bronze medals.
