International Master Lilit Mkrtchyan took 4th place in Prague's European Women's Individual Chess Championship.
In the last 11th round of the EA, Mkrtchyan measured his strength with the representative of Poland, Monika Sochko, and made peace by scoring 8 points. Lilit Mkrtchyan received the right to participate in the Women's World Championship qualifying round. He was also awarded 6 thousand euros.
Monika Sochko won the title of European champion with 8.5 points. Anna Sargsyan, who took 8th place (7.5 points), also qualified for the qualifying round of the World Championship.
Last year's European champion Elina Danielyan lost in the previous round and took 14th place with 7 points. International grandmaster, six-time champion of Armenia, winner of the European team championship, and European champion Elina Danielyan, as an official speaker, also participated in the 2022 Women's Chess Conference, which took place during the European Individual Championship. The conference's purpose was to show the role and importance of women and girls in world chess.
The other representatives of Armenia, Maria Gevorgyan and Mariam Mkrtchyan, earned 6.5 points each, occupying the 22nd and 25th positions, respectively, and Susanna Gaboyan finished the championship in 78th place. Eleven female chess players participated in the European women's title. 11 rounds were held.
