What is Russia doing? Hakob Badalyan

Political commentator Hakob Badalyan wrote on his Facebook page.

"Months ago, I spoke on several broadcasts about Russia's tactical retreat, the flagging policy. I also wrote an article-comment on that topic.
What was publicized today under the title "Lavrov's proposal" is perhaps within the logic of that tactical retreat policy?

Does Lavrov know such proposals cannot be accepted in Yerevan and Stepanakert? Of course, he knows better than all of us.
Does he know that they can become an occasion for heating anti-Russian sentiments? Of course, he knows.

But that problem is one of the minor concerns for Russia because the ability to solve and manage the issues related to it keeps Russia in the Caucasus the most.
In other, more politically severe, large-scale issues, Moscow has lost its vitality and competitiveness. Therefore, it is looking for a solution in a tactical retreat.

And what is a nail? The following is here; we offer Artsakh to be "served on a platter" to Azerbaijan; ditch us and go somewhere that will provide you with more. This promotes Russia, and we continue to look at phenomena and things with a one-line, symmetrical logic.

Since the Euro-Atlantic pole is faced with the problem of pushing Russia out or imposing conditions by significantly weakening it, and Moscow has a severe deficiency in dealing with that problem effectively, another option is being considered. Through a tactical retreat, an opportunity to prematurely create a vacuum, to drag the West into its own "vacuum," the effect of which will be to create a "deficit" of Russia, to create "demand," and to achieve a change in the logic of the game in the medium term.

Otherwise, according to the current logic, the prospect of Russia's competitiveness is very dim, which is best understood in the Kremlin, even better than Armenia's YouTube heroes.

This is quite a risky situation because the game turns into a zero-stakes position, where a full-scale military conflict can once again benefit everyone."
